Exploring contact with Humpback Whales around the Pacific Polynesian Islands of Tonga in October 2013 led to an unforeseen encounter with a pod of 22 Sperm Whales.
While swimming beside the lead whale I became evenly surrounded by 8 adult Sperm Whales who proceeded to  envelope me with sonic pulses know as coda. Having known thousand of hours, often alone in the water with dolphins, this was a whole other level of encounter.
